19.11. demonstration (by VH)

In the afternoon, when there was still light outside, the Vaclavske sq. got completely full. Because we haven’t learned yet that none was killed, we laid down wreaths of flowers and candles at the St. Vaclav’s memorial. Then the people marched to Narodni Avenue where the flowers were laid at the place of the Friday’s massacre. After that, we headed to the Prague Castle via the May Day Bridge. There was a sign on the National Theatre: "They turned the lights off here and locked us up here". Therefore, the discussion forum planned for the evening there could not take place.

Again, a real lot of people joined the demonstration, about 30-40 thousands of them. However, as soon as we got close to the castle, the cordons of police, mad as on Friday, were waiting for us again. I didn’t want to get killed so I left. I could see how they closed the bridge from both sides and started beating with sticks again.
