One for the favourites list. Virtually every article on WriteTheWeb is fascinating [via camworld]. Especially interesting:
- WorldOS; article
WorldOS is distributed computing protocol similar to Gnutella. It consists of a TCP server, an XML application server, and tools for peer-to-peer networking (description culled from their site). Can this help with XML syndication? It is possible (looking at the HelloWorldOS example) that WorldOS is low level enough that the traffic optimisation suggestions I have made could be built on top of it. I'll have to learn more, and get back to it (learning Java first would help).
- The web and text styles; article
Writing style on the web is something that has interested me since I started trying to get people to produce content without them ever actually having used the www. Something that I hadn't come across before was Wired Style, a book which I'm going to have to track down.
And more, and more -- but I don't want to duplicate their entire front page here. Go to WriteTheWeb and read.
