Omigodthatssocool hyperlinking paper media [via slashdot thread]. Except that there are things that could be done better, like:

  • Not making the link depend on a central server or need special software, ie hand-decodable at a push.
  • Threading newspaper/magazine articles so you can call up followup stories: Built-in forward linking not just backward links.
  • Having an open standard so I can hyperlink all my printouts, webpages or otherwise.
  • Putting the UPC on all books, clothes, food so that I can scan with my Casio WQV which grabs the info from my web using my bluetooth enabled mobile phone/palmtop, which is sitting in my backpack, and reads out the (audio xml marked up) content into my earpiece transmitting over my Personal Area Network. Or perhaps that would be a bit much for them to do all at once.

Oh, more about PAN here.
