This section is dedicated to the work of some formerly banned authors from
the alternative culture.
Poems from the underground by Egon Bondy
[Czech only] E.B. is the enfant terrible of the Czech literature. He's known
as a legend of underground, radical Maoist and a holder of PhD in philosophy; but only in
Czechoslovakia. And even there, he belongs to the "rare" literature that one has
to search for in the stores.
The poems are a selection of his work from the 60's. Among
these, one can find his typical simple rhymes as well as long non-harmonical pieces, all
commenting the political situation and the life in the regime. However, also quite a few
love poems can be found there! Czech only.
Visual poetry of Václav Havel
[English] Not many people knows that our current president also created great visual
poems -- just with his typewriter.
When I was transcribing the poems into the computer code it was a real
challenge, but I hope I succeeded. A selection from the series Antikody is available in
both Czech and English
(as far as I know this is the only existing "translation" ;-))
Surreal Visions of Vladimir Wernisch
(N/A yet, but I do have them on disk, just bear with me)
