Now we’ve kicked this off, it makes sense to start looking at other senses. Aristotle put together this big 5 of senses, but in the English language – at least – they didn’t settle down to just 5 until the 17th century. John Locke, I think.

There are other feelings we have that are widely accepted as senses, too.

Well… I ran across this list of senses used by Scientology. You know, I kind of buy some of these. Sense of moisture? Um. And I really wish I had a sense of reality.

Okay, we need to think about this. Unfortunately, the question I have to ask now is the one I wanted to avoid at the beginning: What are senses anyway?
