We'll get on to what I'm going to talk about in a minute...

For the moment let's just look at some pictures.

This one is from a series of ads run by Motorola for their new TVs, in the early 1960s.

I love these pictures of the future. There's no flatscreen TV. Mostly when people watch TV now, they've got a tablet or phone in their hands at the same time. There's a second device on the table at the bottom... but I think it might be an ashtray.

One thing the artist got right is global warming and rising ocean levels. There's a little boy swimming past the window.
