2003-06-07 D&G- Rhizome characteristics and web design p21 Let us summarize the principal characteristics of a rhizome: [...] Unlike a structure, which is defined by a set of points and positions, with binary relations between th points and biunivocal relationships between the positions, the rhizome is made only of lines: lines of segmentarity and stratification as its dimensions, and the line of flight or deterritorialization as the maximum dimension after which the multiplicity undergoes metamorposis, changes in nature. These lines, or lineaments, should not be confused with lineages of the arborescent type, whcih are merely localizable linkages between points and positions. (and the rest of that page is fantastic too.) So Dirk was still tree-like. How could it be rhizomic? Every line put in is a page and a navigation element. Each page shows what is nearby? My websites are getting less treelike. Instead there are bulbs and proximities, peripheral vision and things that stand out. They're more landscape than filing cabinet. How can this trend be increased?
