XRA (software with most potential that I've seen for an extremely long time)

http://michael-mccracken.net/blog/blosxom.pl/computers/mac/programming/helpWantedTextAgent.html -- also

http://michael-mccracken.net/?Software -- download

"XRA is the beginnings of a system for contextual info, aka 'implicit query' like dashboard for OS X. The idea is that thereÕs a standard plugin (An NSTextView inputmanager) that loads other plugins, and sends the text as a query to the other plugins. Those plugins can do whatever they wantÑfor now I only have one plugin, a wrapper for the Remembrance Agent."
So, in theory, I could be typing the words 'remebrance' next time I happen to be saying anything like that, and flickering in the corner of my screen could be my extelligence serendipity agent, mining my thousand or so little links for info. Or I could be typing, and then type something extra for *next* time I'm thinking about that concept. Fuck me.
